How many days til the election?

I am so tired of hearing about the election. I'm sick of hearing about the bailout and the negative comments on McCain-Palin. Every time I hear Obama's voice I cringe. I will be so glad when the election is over. Our economy is bad because ignorant, stupid people are living off the welfare system. Just yesterday I got a notice in the mail at the preschool from the Department of Labor stating a past employee can draw unemployment. She left work in May for a maternity leave, she has decided she's to sorry to keep a job so she filed for unemployment. She can claim because as the employer I failed to proof just cause why she isn't working. What is that about? I filed an appeal so now it will go to DOL appeal court for them to make a decision.

Dahlonega is out of gas! Some lady on the news just said if we have to share our water in a drought with Florida and Alabama, they should be trucking gas to us. Most stations that are getting gas have a $20 or $25 cut off, lets see at 14 mpg, I can get about four gallons, just enough to get almost home. We traded Ricky's diesel truck last spring so we both drive gas burners. Ricky's work truck is diesel and they have a diesel tank at the shop so maybe we will just start driving the Grizzle Grading service truck as a family. Won't that be funny at church on Sunday.

My cousin Chase thinks I get my eating advice from Ronald McDonald. I don't go to McDonald's. I gave up fast food last September when I gave up all drinks but water. I have a friend that does weight lose and she offered me a lot of information on eating habits. I'm 20 pounds lighter in case you wanted to know! At work on Monday we started the biggest looser. There are ten of us in the game. It ends December 15th and the winner gets $300 and this big bucket of chocolate candy (the candy was my idea). We are going on the largest percentage of weight lost in the few months. Why didn't somebody suggest this last year when I changed my eating habits.

We don't have much planned for the weekend. There are plenty of places I want to go but not enough gas to get there. I have 1/2 tank, Ricky has 3/4. 1/2 tank won't get me to Cumming and back. We have fall break in two weeks. Annie is going to the fair in Perry with mom. Brance thought he wanted to go also until he found out that Ricky and I will most likely go junkin'. Brance likes to flea market as good as anybody. He digs into all kinds of things. The three of us enjoy junk, Annie's just put out with it. I guess we will wait to see if we have enough fuel to get there and back.

We still have a few hours until the Presidential Debate, most likely I can't stay awake that long. Ricky starts a four day work week on Monday. That's fine because it's hunting season. He will work, 7am-6 pm. Michelle got me into Net Flicks so Annie makes us have Friday Family Night every Friday night. Tonight we are going to watch Unaccompanied Minors. Last week we watch Mr. Woodchuck, LOVED IT! I think Billy Bob Thornton is cool regardless what he is in.

That's all for now...

Another week starting

and I don't know which way to go! My house is a disaster! Everytime I try to pick it up I find something else to start and I don't go back to the first thing, next thing I know the alarm clock is going off at 6 am and my week is starting and I still haven't finished whatever I started on Saturday. Ricky finally finished the bead board and trim in the hall and front bathroom, of course I still haven't caulked or painted the trim. He says he will not work on anything else until I finish the trim work. I saw the most gorgeous shower curtain, if shower curtains can be gorgeous, on Saturday at Burlington Coat Factory. It will look so good in my bathroom once the walls are painted Heavenly Blue. Annie is ready for a redo in her room and poor Brance still has the same boarder up when we moved in 10 years ago. He never says a word about it.

I have so many things I want to do I just don't make the time to get anything accomplished. We have an easy night tonight. Ricky and kids ate a sandwich for supper that they made for themselves. That was at least one thing I didn't have to think about today. Why does the wife/mother have to make a decision about making dinner, then cook dinner and clean it up? Can someone else make the decision? We are planning to travel somewhere in October. My attitude is really bad about it because the kids don't want to go to Disney this year, three trips is enough for them, Annie wants to go to Universal Studios but Brance doesn't, we would like to go to PCB and Michelle is willing to let us use the condo I just don't want to drive the five or six hours with the kids fighting the entire time. Pigeon Forge is only three hours away. Ricky actually wants to go somewhere with us! Now I'm getting a little nervous about money and for the first time really staying on top of what we spend and how we spend it. Fuel for my 14 mpg vehicle is crazy, however I only drive four miles to work so I can justify spending money for that. It's the weekend trips that get me in trouble. I have stayed home more in the last few months than ever in my life. Ricky and I are even riding in the same vehicle to church on Sundays, that's a first for us.

Well it's time to get the kids and myself ready for bed. I get to read a little while before Ricky comes in the bedroom. Yes, I could work on the trim or clean my house but I like to do something for myself...

Help! I'm turning into my sister...

That's right, I have made fun of Michelle for selling everything she can get her hands on ebay and now I'm doing it too! I listed an item on Thursday night. It has gotten a lot of attention so I decided to sell some more stuff. I just keep dragging things out of Brance and Annie's closets.

Yesterday mom, Annie and I went to grandma's. We took her over to Burlington Coat Factory and to Garden Ridge. She complained the entire time. I don't know what she wants in life, as much as I love her, she is grumpy! She had Annie and I pick out Christmas presents for all of the grand kids. I don't think she needs to buy us anything but I picked all of us something anyway. I am hoping I can get everyone to give them money for Christmas. I think they have plenty of stuff, money would be helpful and she buys every grandchild and great grandchild a gift. I know that Michelle, Michael and I give her Kroger or Wal Mart gift cards every year, I'm not sure about the other grand kids.

Brance went with Kate to the World of Coke yesterday. He brought Chaz back home with him to spend the night. We all went to church together this morning. We had a big crowd. I'm not sure how many but the church was full over 100.

Ricky hasn't been in the woods today. He let Annie drive him around on the 4-wheeler while I finished my book. I've done all the laundry and listed many items on ebay. Check it out, grizzlybearboutique.

I still have to give Beulah a bath. She smells like a dirty dawg!

We have an easy week with Awana on Wednesday and piano on Thursday. Annie has a piano recital in December and she wants everybody to be there. I'll blog the date as soon as I know it.

Ricky is home sick

Please help me! Ricky came home about 2 pm, not feeling well. He must really be sick because he doesn't miss work. I listened to him for a few minutes and had to walk away. I don't complain to anyone when I don't feel good but he wants me to know every single detail! I don't handle that very well. He is piled up in the recliner and that drives me crazy. Sit in the chair on on the sofa but do not lounge on the furniture. I don't care if your sick or not, the furniture is not a bed. If I don't feel good I go to bed.

I'm watching the news, Lanier Tech, the school I went to, was broken into and 2300 computers were stolen. Why do people do this? How do you steal 2300 computers and where was the security guy?

Brance was invited to go to the World of Coke in Atlanta with Kate for her birthday. Brance, Kate, Kate F. and Chaz have been together since pre-k, Brance and Kate F. have been together since he was 12 weeks old. Kate's mom takes a few of them every year to do something. Last year Kate had a big party at her house, this year Rick and Susan are taking the kids to Atlanta. How brave are they? Brance's school uses Power School. Everyday I can go on-line to view his grades. He is missing several things in Chinese, yes Chinese class in the 6th grade. Anyway, I have signed off on his assignments so I know he completed them, but the teacher tells him she doesn't know what he is talking about. I talked to her before school started and I can't communicate with her, it doesn't have anything to do with my attitude toward foreigners, she is very hard to communicate with. He still has a 94 with three zeros. Shouldn't that tell me something. Anyway, I told Brance he couldn't go with Kate unless all of his assignments have been turned in. I don't know if I should forget Ms. Yang and Chinese or not.

Well I'm going to walk by Ricky to go into my bedroom. Wish me luck...

What a dreary day...

It has been a little overcast all day, making me very sleepy. I was in the bed asleep before 8:30 last night. Ricky asked me if I was too old to stay up until 9 pm. The deal is regardless when I go to sleep, I wake up about 2 am and stay awake until 4 or 5 am. I then get up at 6 am to start my day. I am so sleepy in the evening I cannot make it. If I have a good book to read I will read for a while usually until Ricky comes to bed. Last night I didn't have a book.

Today is a beautiful fall day, it only got to 72 degrees with a nice breeze blowing. Its still overcast so it makes me want to get in the bed and cover up. Brance and Annie got their progress reports yesterday, all A's for both of them.

We are home early today. We have Awana tomorrow night and piano Thursday. I have several things to return to Dillards I just don't want to drive to Alpharetta. I also need to pick up our dry cleaning in Dawsonville. Gas is $4 in Dahlonega so I can't afford to drive very far.

I've told you enough about my dreary day...

Saturday is almost over...

And I haven't done anything! I did brush my teeth. I'm watching the dawgs play while I add pictures to my blog to make my sister happy. Sadly, I obviously don't take enough pictures of my family. The Disney pictures were taken by the Disney photographer and put on a disk I had to buy. I didn't even buy it Angel did and I shared the cost with her. These photographers at Disney give you a photo pass card like a credit card. Anytime they can take your picture they download it to this card. You compile all your cards together and buy the disk containing the photos. The disk cost $150. Angel suggested I wait until I get home where she took her cards and mine and put them on one account, then I only had to pay Angel $75 and I didn't have to do any work. What a great friend is she! She even brought the disk to me. She is going back in January but we aren't going this year. I want too but Brance and Annie don't. Ricky said I could take my mom and go but that seems a little weird without my kids. I'm still trying for Universal Studios in November sometime. Brance doesn't want to go anywhere. He has a blast when we arrive he just can't stand leaving home or leaving his daddy.

This game is bothering me. I wish it would end so I could do something else. Like a dummy I will sit here and fuss at the tv like it is going to do some good.

Michelle and I are looking for somewhere cheap to go during Thanksgiving if any one has any ideas.

I don't think I'm going to make it over the hump...

My week is half over and I think I got lost somewhere after Sunday. I went to Pre-K training in Dalton Monday and Tuesday. I hate Pre-K. Anyone who knows me hears me say that a LOT! I support what pre-k does for our children but the paper work consumes me and the two day conferences are stupid. Darlene and I spent the night Monday instead of driving the hour and a half home. We went to a really nice mall in Chattanooga to shop. Everything I bought Brance and Annie is too small so I will have to take it back this weekend in Alpharetta or Town Center.

My work computer has been to the computer hospital for two days. It is finally up and running tonight, but I wasn't able to use it at all today. So two days out of the office and three days without my computer, I will have to work like a dog Thursday and Friday to get payroll done.

Awana started back tonight. I am responsible for snack and "gate keeping". When the children arrive I kept them in the sanctuary and when they get ready to leave I dismiss them out the back door. TR's name badge says Pastor, mine just has my name I asked if someone could add Warden to it. I realize they give me these jobs at church because I'm not really concerned if I offend someone.

I'm watching Chuck Norris on Larry King Live. CNN is very democratic, Chuck Norris is not! He has not endorsed McCain but says he is the best man for the job. He endorsed Mike Huckabee, but says he will not support Obama. I think Chuck Norris is a good guy. He is 68 years old.

Someone sent me an email today with Sarah Palin propped on a motorcycle and Obama riding a bicycle. Although I think women really like her, I think men are just attracted to her. She rides a motorcycle, hunts moose and carries a gun. That's Ricky's fantasy come true.

On the way home today I was listening to Signature Sound like we do everyday and I could see Annie out of the corner of my eye waving her hands in the air. I figured she was doing something to aggravate Brance. I turned and asked her what she was doing. She just looked at me and said "I'm praising God", well I guess she told me. I said okay, don't let me disturb you. There is a reason I call her Polly Pentecostal.

Brance, sweet Brance that never says anything to hurt your feelings really surprised me today. I came out of the bedroom closet to leave for church and he just looked at me and shook his head. I had on my church t-shirt and denim shorts, ankle socks and tennis shoes. I never wear tennis shoes. Anyway Brance looked up at me and said that outfit has housewife written all over it. What the heck is that suppose to mean. I asked him what was wrong with what I was wearing, he said it was the socks, they were too 80's. I said for your information I love the 80's. It apparently embarrassed him that I was wearing the socks out in public. When we got to church a little girl and her friend were there that he invited.

I've heard enough Larry King so I'm going to read my book for a little while.

Ain't that something...

I went to BJ's to buy some snacks for Awana and home. I got this box of 30 snacks, 10 each of Cheetos, Sun Chips and Doritos. That way all of us had something in the box we would eat. Brance wanted a pack of Doritos so he got in the box. He told me there wasn't any. I finally dumped the box out and not only is there not any Doritos, there are only 21 packs total. I called BJ's to complain but I'm not driving 30 minutes back to Cumming for 9 packs of missing Doritos. The manager said when I was in town to come by and her would take care of it. Now ain't that something!

After church today Ricky and the kids went to the archery tournament. Ricky told me last week that the season was over, go figure. Meri Anne and I went to Gainesville to see our friend, Aunt Gayle and her husband, Uncle Shannon. Uncle Shannon is in the hospital, he has diabetes with a bad infection in his foot. My US Weekly Magazine didn't come on Friday, I saw it at Wal Mart today with Sarah Palin on the front. I will be in Dalton on Monday and Tuesday for a Pre-K conference. I won't get to read it now until Tuesday night.

I wanted to take the kids to Universal for fall break but Brance said he doesn't want to go anywhere. He is just like Michael, he enjoys himself once he is there, he just doesn't want to drive there. Brance's six grade class is going to Space Camp in Alabama sometime in November. It cost $300 per child and $300 per adult. Brance said he would rather spend the money that is would cost for he and Ricky to go and go somewhere fun. How funny is that?

Well I need to give Beulah a bath and cook something for the kids (Ricky included) to eat tomorrow night. If I don't leave it for them, they will have potato chips and cookies for supper.

My Blog is BORING!

Michelle changes her blog stuff around all the time, oh I have a job outside my home that's why I can't take time to do it. I would much rather go to a paying job than run errands for my family all day long.

Today was my afternoon to drive the bus. The elementary school is seven miles away. There was a wreck 1 mile from the school that shut the road down. I had to turn around, go side roads to Dawsonville circle back up by Ga 400 to get to the school. It took one hour. Then I had to sit at the school for 15 minutes because all the buses weren't in yet. By the time I finally got my bus loaded the road had just reopened and I was able to go through it. I forgot to take a bottle of water so needless to say I'm sure I was close to having a heat stroke. I was so tired from the bus run that I canceled Annie's piano lesson.

I don't really have a lot to say, I'm kind of wiped out. Michelle keeps telling me tidbits about 90210 so I'm going to try to pull it up on line and watch it.

I have done nothing!

I haven't read a book or anything today, but I don't think I've really done anything either. All of our laundry is done, I did watch a lot of the hurricane stuff on Fox News because Shep Smith was in Louisiana and on tv a lot of the day. If you know me, you know my fascination with Shep. However he has just been in a collared shirt today and I like it much better when he has on a suit and tie. He also is wearing a baseball cap and I don't love that.

Sarah Palin, do you love her? I think she is more like most of us than we could have ever dreamed.

Brance and Annie has aggravated each other since they got up at 6:30 am this morning. I'm in the bonus room, the tanning room with two doors is between here and Annie's room, both doors are shut and I can still hear they fussing about something. I make them get ready for bed at 7:30 pm so as soon as I finish here they are going to bed.

I still have the 48 inch tv sitting in my bedroom floor. Everyday I watch a EHSS dvd. I just watch them over and over. I would normally read a book but lately I just prop up on my pillow and watch EHSS. If you haven't seen them, go to youtube and check them out.

I did cook dinner tonight and enough to take for Heather and I to eat for lunch tomorrow. I am going to see Dr. Faulk the dermatologist at 9 am tomorrow. He is over in Jasper, I had a really good dermatologist in Cumming but the waiting takes forever so Missy told me about this guy and I love him, he is a Christian and a Republican and there is not a wait.

Until next time...
